Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga was created as a total life philosophy that incorporated how we relate
to our world, to ourselves, and how we can attain inner peace. The Sanskrit word ha
means "sun" and that means " the moon," and thus hatha, or literally sun-moon yoga,
strives to balance opposing parts of the physical body, the front and back, left and
right, top and bottom, balancing our masculine (pingala) and feminine(Ida) Nadis to
achieve inner peace and happiness. With this goal of bringing about a sound,
healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. In this course, we will see a wide hatha
yoga postures, which works to make the spine supple and promote circulation in
all the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures also stretch and align the
body, promoting balance and flexibility.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic, vigorous style of yoga that finds its origins in an
ancient book known as the " Yoga Korunta," It's a truly beautiful style of yoga, it is
extensive, highly challenging, and even mesmerizing. Ashtanga yoga is different in
the sense that the postures are set. We do the exact same sequence each time we
practice. Then we advance to the next series after we’ve mastered the first. In fact,
there are a total of six series in Ashtanga — the first (or primary) series, the second
(or intermediate) series, and then four advanced series that follow. In the practice of
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, breath (Ujjayi breathing) is united with flowing
movement and the attention to gazing points (Dristi) to create a meditative and
purifying style of yoga. When practiced for a long and continuous duration,
physical and mental afflictions dissolve, vibrant health and Self-awareness arise.
